More Blessed!

I can remember as a child waiting with great expectation for Christmas morning. Honestly, there where some years where I didn’t wait. I just had to take a peek. Of course, most of the time that made it even harder to wait. Once I knew for sure that the Nintendo was under the tree the torture was brutal until early Christmas morning. As a child, Christmas was all about what I was going to get. Rarely, if ever did I think about what I was going to give. Unfortunately, some people never really get pass that “all about me” mentality. Christmastime is the perfect time to shift our thinking from receiving to giving. When we understand the words of the Lord Jesus who said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. We can see the opportunity to walk in the true blessing of being a blessing. Let’s face it, almost everyone loves to receive. What would happen if we loved to give more than we love to receive? The simple answer is that we would be even more blessed. This Christmas season let’s follow the example of our heavenly Father who so loved the entire world that He gave. His love for us caused Him to spring into action. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” If we love, then let us give with no strings attached. This year let’s purpose to be more blessed!
